For Windows 8/8.1 users, to restore the system partition to its initial state or the user’s backup point via OneKey Recovery System; just follow these steps below; (To create the image backup via OneKey Recovery System, click here).
Method 1: Restore your PC within Windows 8/8.1:-
- Click ‘OneKey Recovery’ icon on the desktop.
- Click ‘System Recovery’ icon.
- Click ‘Yes’ button to reboot your PC into the system recovery environment.
- Wait for a few minutes until the system recovery environment appears on the screen.
- Here, users can select a task either; i. Restore the system partition to initial state or, ii. Restore your system partition from user’s backup image.
- If you choose to restore your PC from the initial backup state; i. Click ‘Next’, ii. Confirm the restore summary like image path, back up note, target partition and selected disk, iii. Then, click ‘Start’ button to reinstate the system partition.
- If you choose to restore your PC from user’s backup; i. Browse a source of an image file, ii. Click ‘Next’, iii. Choose the available restoration point, iv. Validate the restore summary and then, click ‘Start’.
Method 2: Use a ‘Novo’ OneKey Recovery Rescue button:-
If your PC can’t boot properly into Windows, you can activate ‘Novo’ button to fix the issue. Before that, where users can find a ‘Novo’ OneKey Recovery Rescue button? For Lenovo laptop PC only, users can find the Novo button on the upper left-side of the laptop (Note: Nearby to AC power adapter jack). For some of the laptop models, you can find it on the right-side of the laptop or on top nearby the ‘Power’ button. To run Lenovo OneKey Recovery System, follow these steps;
- Shut down or turn off your PC and then, press Novo button.
- The Novo Button Menu will appear on the PC screen. Then, select ‘System Recovery’ and hit ‘Enter’ key.
- Wait for a while until the Onekey Recovery window shows up on the PC screen.
- Do the same steps as method 1. (Note: See the steps 5 to 7)
Note:
- Before you begin the process of restoration of the system, you should back up all files recently created after the last backup image file you created.
- This process takes a lot of times depend on the size of an image file.
